I'm still here!

I've been busy...nothing interesting to blog about really. I have my first doctor appointment on Tuesday, so i'll be sure to update everyone about that! I'm getting an ultrasound so hopefully i can put some pictures of the tiny little bean on here!

My Pet Peeves

I doubt i'll remember every single one right now but i've been so annoyed lately that some of them are sticking out in my mind. Here are a few things that drive me nuts!!

1. When the sackers at the grocery store put my strawberries in with my bleach. (this just happened half an hour ago)

2. Being behind a semi who insists an passing another semi so i'm stuck behind two semi's for like 10 minutes until one gets around the other.

3. People who speed past me and cut me off just to get off on the next exit.

4. People who ride my ass until they can pass me, speed past me and then at the next stoplight i pull up right behind them. Seriously, was it worth it?

5. Being late, or other people being late.

6. Spending Carter's entire naptime cleaning and then as soon as he wakes up it being a disaster again, just in time for Brad to get home, so he's wondering what i've been doing all day...maybe i should just start taking pictures...

Okay, there are some, i'm sure i'll be back to put in more as i remember, but those are my current annoyances

Tellin' the Family

We went to my parent's house for dinner and planned on telling them about the new bean. I made a shirt for Carter to wear and it was interesting how long it took them to figure it out! As soon as we got there, Carter ran over to his motorized John Deere Tractor that he is in love with and started doing laps around the garage. After a few minutes he came in and said hi to my parents. My dad goes, "What does your shirt say? I'm the big brother...cool!!....wait, WHAT?? REALLY??" And my mom started screaming "Are you SERIOUS!!" Of course my mom and i start crying, because that's what us women do when we're extremely happy about something. Overall it went great, and they are very happy for us. Here a pic of the shirt and a couple of him wearing it. He kept pointing to it and saying "I'M the big brother!" It was so cute!

Well....

Even though i've already announced in on Babycenter and the only blogging friends i have are Babycenter friends, i figured i'd announce it on here too! Baby # 2 is on his/her way! We sort of tried last month but had bad timing with DTD and we decided we just wanted to relax and have fun this summer and worry about TTC this fall. Well....3 days ago i realized that i hadn't had my period in a while. In fact, my last period started on Mother's Day. So Brad took Carter to the park to play for a little bit and i snuck to Wal-Mart for a pregnancy test. I didn't feel pregnant whatsoever so i figured it was just stress or something that caused my period to be late. I just wanted to take a test to make sure. Well as soon as the pee hit the stick, there were two lines! I barely set it down on the counter! I was freaking out and shaking, not knowing what to do at all! I finally told Brad tonight..but not how i wanted to tell him. We had to make a trip to Wal-Mart to get some essentials, and i tried to stick another pee stick in the cart without him seeing because i wanted to take a fresh one to show him tomorrow with a t-shirt i was going to make for Carter to wear that said "I'm going to be a big brother" Well we were bringing the bags in and i tried to swipe it real quick but he saw me so i just told him that i thought i might be pregnant and went and took the test and let him read it. Not how i wanted it to go but oh well. We're excited!!! Here's a pic of the million tests i've taken so far because i just can't believe i'm pregnant and also my first belly shot. Talk about bloating!!!!!

Praise the Lord!!!!

My child took a nap today!!!!! After fighting and screaming for the past two weeks, Carter finally took a nap in his own bed! He will nap for the babysitter just fine the two days a week he goes there, but never for me. He used to nap just fine for me but one day decided he didn't want to nap anymore so i would take him to the park and let him run wild in hopes of wearing him out so he would take a nap. It worked for a week or so but then it was just an all out battle and i finally gave up. Well, today i decided that i had way too much to do and i was determined to get him to take a nap. So i took him to the park early, wore him out and came home and put his Elmo Potty movie in, his favorite, and told him if he didn't lay down on the couch and watch it i was shutting it off and putting him in his room. He laid down and fell asleep 15 min. into the movie!! Now i'm hoping it wasn't just a fluke....

Hot Seat Answers

What brings greatest joy in my life?
That one's easy. Whenever Carter learns something new and is so proud of himself! Whenever he gives me hugs and kisses "just because". Just the fact that i am making a difference in his life every day and preparing him for becoming an adult.

What are you afraid of?
Well, i have tons of fears, especially since becoming a mom but i would say what i'm mainly afraid of is something bad happening to my family or something happening to me or Brad and Carter not having us around to take care of him.

What is your biggest accomplishment(non kid related)?
Hmm this one is hard..I think my biggest accomplishment is just learning to stand up for myself and know that my opinion is important, too. I spent a lot of Jr. High and High School being walked all over and I am so glad that I have learned to stand up for myself.

What does your dream day entail?
It would start off by being able to sleep til 9..i could get up and lay around the house for a couple hours and be lazy...then go for a long walk by myself. I would get my hair done, a pedicure and manicure..and go shopping for myself and Carter without any limit. I would have Brad deal with every single tantrum that Carter has and have him deal with bedtime. Then Brad and I would snuggle on the couch with some wine and a good movie.

How did you meet Brad?
We first met in high school when we both worked at the same grocery store. We barely even talked but knew who each other was. Then we went to the same college together and ended up hanging out with the same crowd and eventually I asked him out on a date. :)

What is your favorite thing about Brad?
My favorite thing about him would be that he is hilarious and can always make me laugh! I also love how in love he is with Carter and the fact that he is a great dad.

What is your dream vacation?
My dream vacation would be going to The Bahamas. I have always wanted to go there and just be able to relax on the beach and drink some martini's!!

What would you do with 3 hours to yourself?
Well I kind of answered that one in my dream day answer but i would just pamper myself. Hair, nails, etc. I never do that for myself and I would really like to be able to!!

When I grow up..

I'm taking Bridget's advice for this post. Well, when i was little I remember the only thing I wanted to be when I grew up was a mommy. Not even so much a wife, but definitely a mommy. I remember when I was 10 years old and I was playing with my dolls and thinking about how much longer it would be before I could be a mommy and I got really depressed because I had to wait 10 more years for it to happen. Little did I know, it would be exactly 10 years later that I would become a mommy. As far as a career though, in Elementary School when we had to write about what we wanted to be when we grew up, I always wrote Teacher. I guess it's the closest thing to being a mommy. You're around kids all day, teaching them, guiding them, just like mommies are, so it was the best thing I could come up with. Well when I started college, my intended major was Elementary Education. I only finished one year, and found out I was pregnant right before my Sophomore year started. Brad got a job offer an hour and a half away and I didn't want to go to class pregnant, so I dropped out and we moved. Now that I think about it, I don't think I would be a good teacher. I just don't have the patience. I just know that I wasn't meant to be a teacher. A mommy on the other hand, I was definitely meant to be. Now, once my kids are in school, I guess I'll have to find something to do while they're gone. I have no idea what I would do. I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up.
